There are strict admission requirements for UK medical school programs

Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBBS), in the UK
- It is mandatory that students in high school have at least one Science subject. Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Maths are usually mandatory.
- IELTS with a score of 6.0 to 6.5 or PTE Academic is proof of English language proficiency.
- Score on the UCAT exam. It can be used by different universities. Some universities have a minimum UCAT score that they will accept. Some universities use a points system to evaluate applications. They will give you more points if your UCAT score is higher.
- International Baccalaureate with at least 36 points, including three higher-level subjects (including Chemistry, Biology, and three standard-level subjects). Each subject must be passed with at least six points. All universities in the UK do not require International Baccalaureate.

What’s the UCAT?
The UCAT (previously known as UKCAT, UK Clinical Aptitude Test), is an online exam required by UK medical schools. It tests cognitive abilities, critical thinking, reasoning, and attitudes.
UCAT is used by universities to select qualified applicants for healthcare careers. The UCAT test does not require a science-related education. Questions that test logical skills such as situational judgment, decision making, and quantitative reasoning are part of the UCAT format.
Becoming an English doctor in the UK
You can get a provisional licence after you have completed the 4- or 5-year Medical Degree.
Next is the Foundation Program. This involves various practical placements and training in hospitals. It provides salaries and takes two years to complete.
