Gi Group India under its Corporate Social Responsibility project has signed an agreement for collaboration with the non-profit organization Shanti Bhavan – an established school for marginalised kids near Bengaluru.and popularized by a documentary on Netflix.

This collaboration wants to help Shanti Bhavan towards the creation of work opportunities for their kids, and allow them to experience a future that corresponds to their needs and expectations, based in the principles of equality, impartiality and personal dignity and would be articulated in a number of workshops, support activities and active assignments.

Gi Group has taken a first step towards this initiative by organizing a ‘Destination Work’ day: a workshop for about 70 college going students and working professionals, focussed on Employability and Professional development. The workshop had various sessions for focusing on different elements of employability. While the top management of Gi Group was an integral part of the team delivering the sessions, the industry partners were equally enthusiastic and took part in the workshop. Senior officials from Gi Group and industry verticals like HR Service, IT, Consumer Durables and Insurance Services took active participation in the workshop to impart the expert knowledge on various topics related to employability.

After the brief introduction by Mr. Marcos Segador- Country Manager India, our guest speaker from HR Services Industry took the first industry session on “Strategies for a successful career”. Senior officials and department heads from Gi Group India gave the tips about effective resume creation and ways of handling interviews effectively. Our guest speaker from IT industry spoke about Technology Trends & Opportunities and its importance. Speaker from Insurance Industry did another exciting Industry Orientation and enlightened the students on points about how to enter this industry and day-to-day work culture.

For giving the benefit of combined knowledge and discussion, there was a Panel Discussion, in which top management from Gi Group participated along with other guest speakers from various industries.

Apart from the speaker sessions and panel discussion, the personal interviews of the students were conducted to facilitate the upcoming placements.

The Workshop was very successful and Gi Group intends to do more such projects for students of Shanti Bhawan in future. Apart from Group workshops, Gi Group will also provide Job-oriented Professional Guidance, career counselling placements with clients and Gi Group in India and Internationally.
