After the launch of the Hector and the holistic i-SMART technology, MG (Morris Garages) Motor India has today unveiled an evolution of MG Motor’s integrated i-SMART platform, the next-gen i-SMART EV 2.0. Offering a slick and advanced interface, the all-new 8-inch HD infotainment system will be showcased at the unveiling of the carmaker’s second internet vehicle and the country’s first pure electric internet SUV – the ZS EV – on 5th
December 2019.
6-CORE PROCESSOR: THE INFOTAINMENT POWERHOUSE
The i-SMART EV 2.0’s hardware unit is powered by an all-new 6-core processor & 3 GB RAM that ensure a seamless user experience.
DEDICATED EV FEATURES
The ZS EV’s i-SMART EV 2.0 system comes with dedicated EV features that provide real-time insights such as battery charge left, range and CO 2 saved. Users are notified when the battery charge is at less than 30%, while the
nearest charging station is highlighted on the map when the remaining travel range goes below 50 kilometres.
Users can also see a 360 spider map around their current location. This feature highlights how far they can travel in each direction, based on the remaining range left, traffic, and road conditions.
FIND THE NEAREST CHARGING STATION
With embedded maps and real-time navigation solutions from TomTom, the navigation feature can find nearby charging stations and also displays relevant information such as the type of charger (DC/AC) and connector (CCS2,
ChadeMO etc.). This information can also be viewed and saved on the i-SMART EV 2.0 mobile app to help users navigate to the charging station.
INTERNET INSIDE: EMBEDDED M2M CAPABILITIES SUPPORTED BY
EXTERNAL WI-FI
The i-SMART EV 2.0 has an inbuilt embedded SIM providing internet onboard and can also be connected to an external Wi-Fi connection. This unique,industry-first capability allows users to connect their ZS EVs to their home
network and mobile hotspot, making it the first truly connected electric car in the country. It also enables users to derive the maximum internet speed for operating the infotainment system.
CONTINUED OVER-THE-AIR UPDATES
Continuing industry-first over-the-air updates with the ZS EV as well, the feature allows real-time software updates of the infotainment system at regular intervals without the customer needing to visit the service center for updates.
GAANA, ACCUWEATHER & PRELOADED ENTERTAINMENT
The i-SMART EV 2.0 comes with a premium Gaana account as well as the AccuWeather app. It also comes with the latest pre-loaded entertainment content, which will be refreshed and pushed directly to the head unit by the company at regular intervals.
HELLO MG: INDIA’S FIRST IN-CAR INTELLIGENT VOICE ASSISTANT WITH 100+ VOICE COMMANDS
Coming with a cloud-enabled, AI-based Voice Assistant, the i-SMART EV 2.0 can understand more than 100 voice commands to control various features and functions of the vehicle, like “Open the Skyroof” and “Find me the nearest
charging station”.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY
Consumer data will be stored securely in MG’s Cloud, powered by Microsoft Azure, within India.
MOBILE APP
Every ZS EV owner will also get a downloadable i-SMART EV 2.0 app for their mobile phones. When fired up, the app scans the car and instantly presents information about its location, tire pressure status etc. Via the app, the user
can carry out a series of actions such as:
● Vehicle scanning to check pre-defined parameters
● Battery level & vehicle range
● Check the status of the PM 2.5 AC air filter
● Find POIs & Push it to vehicle
● Find charging stations and push it to vehicle
● Know the CO 2 saved & share it with friends
