Death
When tragedy struck, John Candy had just finished filming a new comedic western called Wagons East. He was 43 years old when he was discovered dead on the set in Durango, Mexico. According to a subsequent story, the actor reportedly had a heart attack while sleeping.
John Candy smoked a lot and struggled with his weight for his whole career. He left behind a wife named Rosemary and Jennifer and Christopher, two children. John Candy was a veteran of more than 40 movies, a devoted sports enthusiast, and a co-owner of the Toronto Argonauts, a team in the Canadian Football League.
