The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and EUROVENT have released guidelines for use of high efficiency air filtration technologies and UV-C lights to protect against the novel coronavirus. These air filtration technologies are required to be ISO16890 certified and should capture ePM1.0 size of microbes with over 80% efficiency, and UVGI has been recognized as an effective technology with the potential to eliminate COVID-19.While the system has not been directly tested on coronavirus yet, it has been tested to kill various other bacteria and viruses, and the technology is recommended by international bodies for SARS-CoV-2 protection.
