What is the Difference Between CMAT and SNAP 2022 Exams? Which Is Better to Join?

CMAT & SNAP

When comparing SNAP to other MBA admission tests such as CMAT, we may discover that SNAP is pretty similar to other national level MBA entrance exams. Aside from the sectional composition of the SNAP vs. other MBA admission tests, the SNAP has recently altered its examination method and is now a computer-based exam rather than a paper-based exam. CMAT is thought to be more difficult than SNAP.

Until 2018, CMAT was held every year by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in accordance with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of the Government of India’s directives. However, the NTA will now administer the CMAT Test. All AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges accept the CMAT score. BYJU’s Exam Prep notes are a great help for this.

Difference Between CMAT & SNAP

SNAP 2022 is one of the most popular MBA entry tests in India. It offers admission to 16 Symbiosis Institutes, including SIBM Pune and SCMHRD, both of which are among the country’s top 15 B-schools. There are a few differences between SNAP and other MBA admission exams: There isn’t a sectional cut-off.

Therefore, if you want to pursue an MBA, it is advisable to take the exam.  The SNAP exam is undoubtedly one of the most important exams, and it can help you gain admission to prestigious universities where you can pursue your education.

SNAP is a lot less complicated than CMAT. One must prepare at the XAT level to get the most out of preparation. The SNAP exam is considered somewhat demanding instead of the CMAT, which is more complicated.

Benefits of CMAT Exam

The following are some of the benefits of taking the CMAT exam:

  • In comparison to other management tests, the CMAT is a three-hour computer-based online test administered in one sitting to evaluate a candidate’s aptitude in quantitative technique, logical reasoning, language comprehension, and general awareness.
  • In the CMAT, each question needs four points, with one point subtracted for each incorrect response.
  • Students can take a practice test to familiarise themselves with the CMAT exam format, which is unavailable for other exams.
  • CMAT results are valid for one year when applying for admission.
  • A CMAT score of 290-300 will get a student into a top business school.
  • Students who score in the top 95 percentile on the CMAT may be considered for admission to the best B-Schools.
  • Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Prin LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Goa Institute of Management, Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, and others are among the top colleges that take CMAT scores into account.
  • Since there are fewer questions to answer on the CMAT, it is easier than other exams.
  • In addition, in the CMAT, more time will be allotted for answering questions. This provides CMAT a significant advantage in terms of difficulty.

It is easy to conclude that SNAP acts as a lifeline, allowing you to ace it the second time around if you do not perform well in the first attempt. Even if one performs well in the first attempt, there is a chance of improving one’s score and getting into their dream Symbiosis MBA college.

SNAP timing has also been lowered from two hours to one hour starting this year. As a result, it is likely to be different from previous years. Thus, taking SNAP twice is a prudent idea. Therefore, It is recommended to appear for both examinations. Please refer to the BYJU’s Exam Prep link for further information.
